“I know Ilya, I’m trying.” Shane tries to hide his exhaustion from his tone.
“Could try harder, no?” Ilya raises an eyebrow.
“I get it, okay?” Shane pushes back, letting his enervation show this time. “I’m trying, but it’s hard. I guess I just need something that sticks. Something to hold me accountable.”
“I can help, with consequences.” Ilya shrugs easily, his voice free from any inclination of teasing.
“What, you wanna punish me?” Shane smiles, raising his eyebrows and pulls Ilya’s hand from his thigh up to his mouth to kiss it. “Spank me every time I people please?”
Shane can’t help but to chuckle at himself.
“Would that help you?” Ilya’s voice is flat and serious.
