Chapter Text
Gabby worked diligently at her desk, sketching the latest designs for the upcoming fashion show. She glanced up occasionally, stealing glances at Lucas, who was engrossed in a meeting with the marketing team. Her heart fluttered every time he smiled or laughed, but she quickly looked away, afraid of being caught.
Gabby: (muttering to herself) Get a grip, Gabby. He’s your boss, nothing more.
Just then, Lucas walked over to her desk, his presence causing her to fumble with her pencil.
Lucas: (smiling) Gabby, do you have a moment? I need your opinion on something.
Gabby looked up, her cheeks flushing slightly.
Gabby: (nervously) Of course, Lucas. What do you need?
Lucas handed her a sketch, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
Lucas: (enthusiastically) I was thinking of adding this design to the collection. What do you think?
Gabby studied the sketch, her professional instincts kicking in.
Gabby: (thoughtfully) It’s beautiful, but maybe we could add a bit more texture to the fabric. It would give it more depth and movement.
Lucas nodded, impressed by her insight.
Lucas: (grinning) That’s a great idea. I knew I could count on you, Gabby.
Gabby’s heart soared at his praise, but she quickly composed herself.
Gabby: (smiling) Just doing my job.
As Lucas walked away, Gabby sighed, wishing she could tell him how she really felt. Later that evening, as the studio emptied out, Gabby stayed behind to finish some last-minute adjustments. She was so engrossed in her work that she didn’t notice Lucas returning.
Lucas: (softly) Gabby, you’re still here?
Gabby jumped, startled by his voice.
Gabby: (flustered) Oh, Lucas! I didn’t hear you come in. I just wanted to finish these sketches.
Lucas walked over, his expression serious.
Lucas: (gently) Gabby, there’s something I need to tell you. I’ve been trying to find the right moment, but it’s never seemed right.
Gabby’s heart pounded in her chest. She had no idea what he was about to say, but she braced herself.
Gabby: (nervously) What is it, Lucas?
Lucas took a deep breath, his eyes locking onto hers.
Lucas: (softly) Gabby, I have feelings for you. I’ve tried to ignore them, but I can’t. You’re talented, kind, and you make this place brighter just by being here.
Gabby’s eyes widened in shock. She had never expected this.
Gabby: (whispering) Lucas, I… I feel the same way. But I didn’t think you would ever notice me like that.
Lucas stepped closer, taking her hands in his.
Lucas: (sincerely) How could I not notice you, Gabby? You’re amazing. But we need to be careful. Our relationship could complicate things at work.
Gabby nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation.
Gabby: (softly) I know. But we’ll figure it out, together.
Lucas smiled, his heart swelling with affection.
Lucas: (gently) Together.
They stood there, holding each other, finding comfort in their shared feelings. For Gabby and Lucas, their love was a secret, but it was a secret worth keeping.
