After 2 million years, Optimus Prime dies once again under the same hands. Primus, the watcher, the observer, the dreamer, grants the world a do-over after a certain purple spark convinces the lonely god for it to seek redemption and find his friend once again.
Everyone returns to the time before the Quintessons, before the Cybertronian War, before Optimus Prime and Megatron existed. The only difference is that everyone will slowly remember their past lives and it will come to them in an unknown time. Allies are forgotten, enemies remembered. A promise still yet unbroken.
Orion Pax wakes up with his memories returned, face-to-face with a D-16 who doesn't seem to recall any of his past, yet.

TFP x The Mummy (1999) AU, Pre-War/No Great War. Long ago, Unicron was sealed away by Primus’ Primes while he'd vow once he's released, Unicron will lay a curse on those who reawaken him and destroy all planets across the galaxies. In the present, Orion Pax, a young yet very talented Archivist of Iacon Hall of Records, a medic named Ratchet and a former Wrecker named Wheeljack had found a special map that was part of an ancient history from supposedly another planet and hired a skillful yet brute gladiator named Megatronus as a bodyguard and guide, who happened to know the locations on the same planet (Cybertron), warning something is there and it's dangerous. But there's no such thing as curses and nothing bad will happen... right??

“Query: why does the Terran attempt to protect Megatron?” Soundwave questioned her. “Twitch Malto does not know Megatron. The real Megatron.”
“Because he is Mum’s friend!” Twitch snapped back at the Audiobot. “Because he is my friend! Don’t act like you know him!”
Soundwave was silent for a long moment. He was silent for so long that Twitch began to think he had slipped into some weird stasis but Soundwave responded to her accusation abruptly.
“Soundwave thought he knew Megatron,” he replied and Twitch swore that the Decepticon sounded bitter, hurt even. “Soundwave did not.”

A chance encounter with Soundwave leaves Megatron in a serious condition, his mind shattered and trapped in his past as D16. With Ratchet on Cybertron, his only hope to ever recover is the illusive Knock-Out who disappeared after defecting from the Decepticons years before the war ended. Someone who only Megatron himself could find.
Deep scars begin to be reopened as the consequences of a foolish and rash decision.

D-16 uses the pen name Megatron to revolutionise his ideas before being put to work near the core of the planet and ultimately heading off to Maccadam's, which may or may not change the utmost projectory of his life.Oh yeah, he also meets a cogless Orion Pax who's determined to help D-16/Megatron make a change in their functionalist society. However, one gets a cog before the other and causing a slight turmoil in how they view each other's impact.
