It was either the trap set for him from the start, or a self-fulfilling prophecy—any murder that led to the end of the Sand Pest would be accepted.
The Haruspex finds another solution to his question, neither the Tower nor the Inquisitor. And with that solution, finds a way to maintain the world as he knew it, as well as fulfilling his role.

Mike is miserable. He knows that. After discovering his wife was cheating on him (he was cheating on her, too), Mike realizes he can't live his life that way. On impulse, he makes a call and ends up living at Will's house in New York. Mike discovers too late that Will has a boyfriend and that the two of them are living together. Mike must confront his unexpected (and obvious) feelings for Will, his struggles as a writer and his self-esteem issues.

Tormented by memories of El, and haunted by a song constantly playing on the radio (courtesy of an old friend), Mike Wheeler hears that his best friend is hospitalized from a nasty car crash and comes rushing to his side. While Mike awaits his bedside for Will to wake up from a coma, he is left with nothing to do but sit and think about his past, and what the rest of his future will look like if he has to lose Will too.
All the while, receiving scathing glares from across the other side of the bed by Will's boyfriend… as well as suspicious looks from the wife sitting right beside Mike.
When Will wakes up, he's met with an irritated boyfriend, and a determined Mike who seems hellbent on rekindling a flame that he put out years ago. And, oh yeah! Can't forget Mike's wife who apparently didn't know Will existed. Fun times!

The ‘Lucky Strike’ was a joint that sat just on the edge of town, bringing light to the dark streets with its obnoxious neon signs that begged patrons to waste their money. Like any great establishment, the building held a casino, a bar, a roller rink and a small bowling alley that had given it its name, the other perks having been added later. Over the years, it had gained a fair amount of attraction due to the various and numerous groups of concerned parents that had formed over worry that the place was corrupting their children. In that respect, they weren’t entirely wrong. Lucky Strike was popular with the teens for a number of reasons: the music was good, the company were horny, and the barmen never asked for ID, simply winking and sliding the glass across the bar. And if the parents found out about that, well, there was little to no way to stop teenage rebellion in 1985.
