Too Little, Way Too Late

Summary:

(MODERN AU)
After going to school in Germany for her entire life, at 14 years old Anya gets scouted by HYBE and becomes a trainee, leaving for Korea. Leaving Germany behind and her friends, will they be able to handle seeing this huge change?
She eventually debuts, but then in the crowd she sees a familiar face at the debut stage.

Notes:

This is my first post.. I'm lowkey bad and this highkey cringe.. I just had this random thought of "Oh what if Anya became a HYBE trainee"
This might be a long story..
She is also still a telepath- for clarification, I don't know what to do about Loid and Yor's occupations.

Chapter Text

CHAPTER 1..

It was just a normal day, Anya was out with her family, when all of a sudden a person came up to her.

“Wow! You have very delicate features, you’re very pretty!” The lady says.

“Thank you, I appreciate the compliment.” Anya replies.

“Do you by chance sing and dance?” She asks the young girl.

Her eyes lit up, “I love to dance and sing!” she exclaimed. Yor and Loid share a glance of concern with each other, skeptical of what was going on.

“Well, since you seem very passionate and most definitely have the potential young lady! How about you become a trainee at our company? It’s all the way in Korea, and we can handle the flights and education affairs.” She said, handing the Forgers a business card ‘HYBE Labels’ written on it.

“Contact me if you ever consider it, my information will be on there. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.” The lady said. “She’d make a great K-POP idol, visuals, we can work on language, voice, and dance skills as well. I hope that her parents accept this offer.”  The lady thought to herself, before walking away.

Anya stood there stunned, her out of all people? Recruited to become a trainee all the way in Korea? Is she dreaming? “I have to leave Germany? I can become famous and be a K-POP idol? So exciting!” She thought.

It had to be too good to be true.

She glanced at her parents, who were still looking at the business card. She tried to hold back what she was saying but then it slipped.

“Mama, Papa, can I join maybe?” She asked, excitement filling her voice.

Loid and Yor exchange each other a glance of uncertainty, worrying for whatever would happen in Korea. Who knows what could happen? Yor stares at Anya, a small smile appearing on her face.

“Miss Anya, let me and Papa talk about this, this is a big step into your future!” She says, and then glances at the business card once more.

“Well, this is a big opportunity, but would Anya want it? This is going to be a drastic change for her, especially the environment, as well as learning different languages now, and moving to a new school, everything would change if we go. If she does, I hope she can handle it.” Loid thought to himself.

“Yeah, we’ll discuss this at home.” He said, as they walked back home. Anya grinned slightly at the sound of his thoughts and his consideration.

Chapter 2

Notes:

I don't really have much to say.. I wrote 4 short chapters in one day..

Chapter Text

The weekend had passed by, her parents still pondering over the thought of her moving to Korea and training there professionally at HYBE. She still had to attend Eden College, and how would she manage moving schools? The thought of moving away from Becky, her classmates, especially Becky. Damian had never really crossed her mind, he was still that stubborn jerk who teased her for her stubby legs, yet every time she read his mind she couldn’t help but feel confusion.

She’d gotten up and was getting ready, until her father told her it was time to go, she sighed heavily, dreading the school day.

As she’d gotten off the bus, the recruit had her mind running like crazy, she was so lost in thought she didn’t even hear Becky Blackbell calling to her.

“Anya!” She exclaimed.

She jumped, startled.

“Oh.. Good morning Becky.” She said, still lost in thought.

“What’s up with you today? You seem so out of it!” she exclaimed “Did you finally realize your undying love for Damian?” she squealed, her eyes beaming with hope.

Anya gave her that weird look she always does.

“As if!” She replied.

“Well speak of the devil,” Becky said, staring at the guy with his little minions at his side like usual. “Isn’t this a nice surprise Damian?”

The boy stared at Becky, and then at Anya, his heart fluttered silently in his chest. “What are you talking about?” He said roughly, his ears red.

Anya was already used to their bickering, she didn’t really butt in, it wasn’t her problem anyway.

“Oi stubby legs! Why are you just standing there?” Damian asked.

“Well I’m not involved in this conversation aren’t I shithead? Bickering like you guys are still 6 years old.” Anya replied, using her smirk that always got Damian all riled up still.

“You.. YOU!” He exclaimed, holding himself back.

They started to bicker back and forth, and it seemed like Anya was winning, and she was able to get the final say to get him to be quiet, finally!

“That’s what I thought.. Sy-on boy!~” She said teasingly, walking away with Becky.

His face turned 50 shades of red.

“Dammit!” He internally screamed.

“You.. YOU! DAMMIT FORGER!” He yelled embarrassed, his minions staring in confusion.

Chapter 3: The acceptance

Notes:

Ok I get like half of the things going on is probably inaccurate.. might as well go beefing with my chick while I'm in j**l.

Chapter Text

The school day came to an end, they all parted ways.

“I’m home.” Anya said, walking through the doors of the apartment her family had been living in for her entire life.

“Welcome home Miss Anya!” Yor welcomed her, giving her a gentle hug.

“Anya.. we need to talk.” Loid, said.

He was on the couch, he gestured to a spot on the couch.

“So, what’s this about?” She asked.

“Well, me and your mother, we decided to contact HYBE from the business card..”

“And.. and?” Her eyes lit up, but tried not to get too ahead of herself.

“We decided that you’ll go, but promise us you’ll be responsible over there!” her Dad said.

Her eyes lightened up with joy, excitement written all over her face.

“Thank you Papa!” She exclaimed happily, jumping up and down, hugging both of her parents.

“Well, Anya, after this semester, we’ll have to transfer you. You'll do some online training here for now until we can get you situated in Korea,” he explained to her. “Since you’re a minor, we’ll all be moving together as a family.”

She nodded, her life was going to change completely. Even though her Dad felt skeptical, and didn’t want her to, he still accepted it for her.

These next weeks she trained as hard as she could, practicing vocals, dancing, getting critique from her online coaches. She was drained nonetheless, but she kept pushing herself to death.

With the realization of how her life is going to impact her now, she had internally decided that she was going to focus on her studies and learning Korean at school, determination filling her with hope. She couldn't keep flocking her tests, she needed to keep this going on. There was no time for dilly-dallying around now. She needed to focus, and her grades were improving, but her determination yet came with other worries.

Chapter 4: Confession

Notes:

Genuinely why did I think this was a good idea.. pls now I'm embarrassed and I'll prob forget about this. LOL

Chapter Text

Well as she kept practicing hard, it was obvious that she was practicing hard, her physique was changing, and at school she wasn’t herself at all. She kept pushing herself to learn Korean, and was buried in her studies. Becky and Damian were both worried, talking about how she’s been acting. She never told anyone at school, she wasn’t ready to. Would she ever even be?

“Since when did she even pick up learning Korean?” Damian asked.

“I have no clue! This isn’t like her at all, it’s such a drastic change for her, it kind of hurts in a way..” Becky replied.

“Gosh stubby-legs, what has gotten into you?” He thought to himself, this was too ridiculous.. UTTERLY ridiculous.

As the weeks passed by, he saw her buried in her studies at the courtyard, thinking about how it was the perfect time to confront her about this. He walked up to the girl, his hands trembling and his heart pounding out of his chest. He sat next to her as she kept studying so diligently, she was working really hard.

“So.. what’s with the studying all of a sudden?” He asked, reading what was on the book.

“Oh nothing much.. I just thought I needed a change in myself.” She said, stuck on her book.

“Seriously? This isn’t like you Anya, what happened to the peanut obsessed girl who kept flunking horribly at her studies? The girl who shot insults back at me when I insulted her first?” He asked, his eyes filled with pleading, she hadn’t even bothered to glance at him.

“Well, people change priorities… it’s not that big of a deal really, I’ve just been needing to focus on this.”

“Especially if it’s my last year here.”

“Seriously Anya?” He said, he gently grabbed her hands away from the book, holding them. He stared at her with those sad pleading eyes, he seemed vulnerable even. Really? Anya Forger, seeing Damian Desmond at his most vulnerable times? Her eyes widened, caught off guard, her gaze softened out of pity. She contemplated on telling him, glancing from side to side, avoiding eye contact as the tension grew.

“Well..” Anya said, hesitating. “Is it really right to tell him? It feels wrong. I don’t think I should.” Her face flickered with hesitation, the finals were coming up soon anyway, she’d have to break the news to her classmates anyway. She took a deep breath, her mind a scattered mess.

“Well, I got scouted for a K-POP company to be a trainee, they said I have the looks, and I have the potential of singing and dancing…” She paused for a brief moment. “after the end of this school year, I’ll be moving away to Korea and soon enough hopefully, I get to pursue being a K-POP idol.” She said

Damian’s eyes widened.

“W..What?” He stuttered over his words. “I’m glad to hear that, chasing after your passions.” He said, a smile on his face.

It was one of his fake smiles, trying to stay composed for the girl that he's loved ever since 1st grade, it felt unreal as the words came out of her mouth. It couldn't be true right? It had to be some horrible nightmare, he really didn't want her to leave did he? His heart slowly broke in pieces as his mind scattered.

His heart was broken, the girl he’d known since he was 6, moving to a new country to pursue being an idol. He’d never acted this soft with her, he was always teasing, but he had this deep pang in his heart, where he didn’t want her to leave.

“Thanks, I plan to tell Becky soon, it’s just, I don’t know how I’d break it to her.” She said, with contemplation written all over it. “Just don’t say anything for now…” she muttered, “anyway, I have to go Damian, thank you for accompanying me here while I studied though.” She said straightforwardly.

He just sat there, shock written all over his face, urging himself to hold back the tears he said he’d never cry.

Chapter 5: What do you plan to do?

Notes:

This is a bit longer than the other ones, I should be asleep LOLOL. Hopefully I can get chapter 7 in soon after because I have school, unfortunately. This is like really slow burn omg I'm dead

Chapter Text

As the months passed by, all Anya could do was train to the bone, yet there was this hole in her heart, holding herself back from wanting to leave Germany. She was determined to become a K-POP idol one day, bringing success to her name and to let her parents rest. She felt physically drained, the strict dieting, harsh training hours, learning Korean, and studying hard all the time, it felt like she had no time to play around. She couldn’t even hold a conversation with her friends without zoning out per second.

“How am I going to break it to Becky, or my other friends?” She thought.

For a moment, she remembered that Damian Desmond, was the person she told, she had entrusted him not to say anything surprisingly, and he hadn’t. Which had given her a sigh of relief, but given her state now, she’s about to leave for good. In just a month or two, she’ll withdraw from Eden College, finish her studies in Korea and eventually become what she plans to achieve once she gets there. She couldn’t help but wallow in pity, she was detaching herself from people she cared about. The more she thought about it, the more it hurt, she stared at Mr. Chimera, her eyes at the verge of tears.

“I get to do the things I want, but at what cost? I’m confident I won’t regret my decision.” She paced in her room, running through a cold sweat.  “Think about it, think about it!” Her mind screamed at her. “Either I give up my dreams and stay here or I give into becoming a trainee, to my full potential!” She slammed her desk hard. Her mind set on what she’ll do. “I’m never going back. Burn the bridge between them, burn it all.” She thought, filled with determination.

As she kept training, she’d visibly gotten thinner, her skin looked like porcelain, and it just felt… different around her. She wasn’t the same carefree girl who kept teasing Sy-on, or who kept trying to befriend him. Even Ewen and Emile stared at her with concern, they didn’t bother to mess with her. Her grades were ultimately impressive as well, she was able to answer questions correctly, and got high grades. She was the talk amongst her peers, their thoughts filling her head and driving her dizzy, that’s one thing that’s never changed for her.

The next day, she attended school like usual, Becky still coming up to her. Things have changed between them ever since, but they’ve never said anything straightforward about it.

“Wow Anya! You’ve really changed a lot, you look like a lady really!” Becky exclaimed, her smile faltering slightly.

“Huh? Oh, thank you Becky. I appreciate the compliment.” She gave a smile back, but it was one of those that never reached her eyes.

“How did things even get to this? I thought our friendship was fine… but it feels like it’s falling apart.” Becky thought to herself, which Anya ultimately heard. She couldn’t help but feel pity towards it, she was working towards her goal, and nothing could get in the way.

As they kept walking, Damian, as well as Emile and Ewen appeared. Damian just stared at Anya, his gaze softening realizing that she wouldn’t be attending Eden College for much longer.

“Oh look, it’s stubby legs and her protector.” Damian said jokingly, trying to lighten things up.

Anya stared at him, a slight smile appearing at the crevices of her lips.

“Will I ever feel like this again?” Anya thought, clinging onto this life for a little longer. She didn’t want to leave, but she’d already accepted it, and there was no turning back. She sighed, and eased into talking with her friends once again.

“Oh shut it you shithead.” She chuckled.

“You can’t be talking Damian!” Becky said, a small chuckle escaped from her.

“Oh Anya, how about we go shopping this weekend?” Becky smiled, hoping that she’ll be free. Becky missed hanging out with her.

Anya thought about it, realizing that her weekend was free.

“I think I should be free, I don't really have anything to do luckily.” She said,

“Maybe I can finally break it to Becky when we go shopping. Maybe let’s invite Sy-on! He already knows anyway.” She thought to herself.

“Ohh, if Sy-on boy also wanted to go shopping with us too, that’d be nice!” She said in that playful tone.

“Wow Anya! Still so romantic as always!” Becky squealed. “I didn’t think you still had it after all these months!”

“W-What?!” Damian said, his face flushed with red all over it. He still liked her, he's never stopped. These feelings kept surging, cursing him inside and out.

“As if! I’d rather do anything but go shopping with you guys!” He said all riled up. “DAMMIT!”

Anya let out a typical smirk, the one that she playfully used back when they were first years in Eden College.

“DAMN YOU!” He exclaimed.

Anya laughed, something raw and real, she hasn’t felt this way in a long time. She was really going to miss this, hanging out with her friends like this, the constant teasing. She wasn’t ready to leave it all behind. This was her fate though, she signed it, and she wasn’t going to let this hard work go to waste.

Chapter 6: Shopping!

Notes:

I think I'll be posting daily until my schoolwork gets too much for me to handle, ugh school is horrible as well as my sleep schedule. I'm surprised I'm even writing about this still when I'd usually forget about it. This is a longer chapter if I'm honest, and I don't even know how much longer this story will be

Chapter Text

During the weekend, Becky and Anya went shopping, and surprisingly convinced Damian to tag along as well. They looked around at clothing stores, tried on some clothes. Becky bought the most things, with Anya only buying 3-4 pieces of clothing. She wasn’t really interested in the clothes.

Damian’s face was as pale as a ghost, tired of trailing along with them.

“Did you seriously have to drag me along today?” He scoffed in annoyance.

“Well of course! Anya asked you to come, if it weren’t for her you wouldn’t be here anyway! Be grateful!” Becky responded as they kept walking.

Anya looked at the both of them, a smile creeping up on her face, not visible enough for anyone to see properly.

“Get a hold of yourselves.” Anya chuckled, her smile getting bigger.

“Let’s go get something to eat, I’m hungry.” She added.

“Well, I guess we could take a break from shopping.” Becky said. “There’s this really nice cafe nearby! Let’s go there!” Becky squealed, dragging Anya with her.

“Hey, wait up!” Damian scowled, trailing behind the two.

They sat at the cafe, ordering their tea and cakes, chatting about things and laughing.

“Excuse me for a moment, I need to use the restroom.” Becky said, walking off to find the nearest restroom.

As it became just Damian and Anya, the silence was intense. The tension between the two, Anya’s facade trying to keep up with Becky, yet Damian saw it all. They just stayed silent, not staring at one or the other. Anya tensed up, holding onto her teacup for support, her hands slightly trembling from gripping it so hard. Damian noticed, not saying a word…

“Anya, you don’t need to grip it so hard.” He said, his voice softening.

“Huh?” She looked down at her cup, now her hands were shaking. “Oh..” She said, loosening the grip on the cup. “Thanks for reminding me..” she muttered.

“Mm.” He said in response, his mind was scattered.

“How do I approach her?”

“What do I do?”

He bit his lip in frustration, out of exhaustion, he laid his head on the table. Anya stared but didn’t say much, she also put her head down. The awkwardness between them died down a bit.

“Have you told Becky yet?” He asked the girl, whose gaze now fell upon the boy.

“..” Anya stayed quiet for a few seconds, stunned by his question. “No.. I haven’t. I planned on telling her today, but I don’t know how I will.”

Now it fell silent, the awkwardness growing even more. Until Damian broke the silence.

“Anya…” Damian muttered. “Do you really have to go..?” He asked, his voice softer, close to a whisper. His eyes lingered onto her face, examining her.

“Why are you asking me this all of a sudden?” She responded, trying not to sound harsh, but it still did. It wasn’t icy like how usually she’d respond now, but it hurt a bit.

“Because.. I feel like I’ve just been in denial about it, if I’m honest.” He started “I don’t think I’m used to this new you, and how you’ll just disappear from my life after this basically… It's weird to think about it. How I see you everyday at school, the way we tease each other, and how we all get along. How you see me for me at times. Then you.. you’re just going to leave us, leave me here.” He responded, he felt embarrassed even opening up to this girl. Vulnerability washing over him.

Anya’s eyes widened, she never put it into perspective that way.

“Well, this is just a really big thing for me, you know?” She responded. “I’ve been working hard as much as I can, this is what I dream to be. I understand how you feel, but it’s just changing. Life never stays the same, you know that Damian. I don’t want to leave either, but this is a new step forward in life, I get to open another door for myself.” She said, their eyes meeting each other's gaze.

His hand moved to grab hers, their hands intertwining with one another, catching Anya off guard.

“Please, don’t go.” He whispered, you could barely catch him even saying the words coming out of his mouth. He looked up at her, his eyes were holding back his emotions from spilling out.

“... I’m sorry..” The words came out in an instant, she looked at his teary filled eyes. She let go of his hand, wiping them before they spilled.

“Stay strong, I know you can.” She said, a small grin on her face.

She sat up, acting like nothing happened, catching Damian off guard. As that happened, Becky came back.

“Sorry for taking a long time! I got lost.” She said,

“Oh it’s not a problem.” Anya responded. “If I must, I think I’ll excuse myself. I need to get some fresh air.” She added on.

“What? But I just came back?” Becky complained. “Well I can’t stop you..” She muttered.

Anya stood up and walked out the cafe, she hid in an alleyway, she couldn’t help but tear up. She looked to see if anyone was around, making sure no one saw her. Once she saw the coast clear, she just bawled her eyes out. She couldn’t handle all this as a 14 year old, she was stressed, drained. Her back slid down onto the ground and she just buried her face into her knees, ugly sobbing her heart out. This was the harsh reality felt like, she couldn’t even tell her best friend that soon enough, she’ll be gone from this country for good.

Meanwhile, with Damian, he excused himself to find Anya. Becky didn’t bother to fight back, it had become horribly obvious he was infatuated with Anya himself. He kept searching for her, but no sight of her, until he heard a muffled sob. He followed the sound of the sobs into an alleyway, and saw her face, buried into her knees.

“Anya!” He screamed.

Chapter Text

“Anya!” Damian shouted.

Startled by her name being called, Anya looked up from her sobs and saw Damian, pure horror written all over her face after seeing him.

“Go away!” She said, her sobs muffled as she buried her face in her knees.

“Shit! Was I really that loud?” She thought to herself.

Damian rushed to her side, for she was on the ground. His gaze softened.

“Hey, hey..” He said, attempting to calm her down. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Patting her back.

She didn’t even bother to respond, everything was too muffled for her. She threw herself into his arms sobbing uncontrollably.

“Wai-” Before he could finish, he stared at the girl who was once toughened up after all these months, now at her weakest moment. He looked at her pitifully, holding her in his arms, rubbing her back and trying to calm her down.

“Shh.. you’re okay.” His tone was gentle, like how her mom would comfort her when something bad happened.

She looked up at him, her eyes still filled with tears, embracing him like there was no tomorrow, all she needed was comfort, she wasn’t ready for this, she’s trying to be so strong yet she hasn’t been able to act herself. He wiped her tears from her face with his sleeve as she kept crying.

“Fuck, why did I ask her that? I should’ve never asked her that. Look what you did Damian.”  He thought to himself.

He held her tight as she calmed down eventually and stopped crying.

“Feeling better?” He asked.

She looked away, nodding yes. Her sniffles were still pretty loud for she just finished crying.

“Come on, let’s go back, we don’t want Becky to keep waiting.” He said, standing up, extending out his hand to her.

“Okay..” She said in between sniffles, she grabbed his hand as he pulled her up. She grabbed her phone and checked her face, it didn’t look that noticeable anymore that she just cried her entire heart out. She sighed a breath of relief as they continued walking.

The tension grew between them, and they finally made it back to the cafe, where Becky was waiting for them.

“Took you guys long enough!” Becky shouted. “Are you okay Anya? I was worried sick!” She said,

“I’m okay.” she responded, with a gentle smile on her face.

“Thank goodness..” Becky sighed, embracing Anya with a hug.

“Well I guess that’s a wrap for shopping today! Thank you for coming with me Anya! And I guess you too Damian.” She said, snickering at Damian.

“Damn you! What’s your problem?” He shouted, they always fought like they were siblings. It was unnecessarily funny for Anya to see them have such a bond like that. This was all coming to an end once she moved, a pang felt in her heart. She let out a small smile as she placed her hand on her heart, the pang undeniably painful.

As she got home, she went to her room and plopped down on her bed immediately. She couldn’t stop thinking about what Damian said, or how much it was going to affect her peers around her, and especially her best friend Becky.

She didn’t want to hold back from whatever this was, she wanted to live her last year at Eden to the fullest. Final exams were just coming around the corner, and she needed to make the most of it.

“Just a little more perseverance through my online training sessions and get through school and I’ll be perfectly fine!” She thought, now getting her hopes up.

She hoped she was making the right decision, she’d never felt this way before, but everything felt so right. She couldn’t wait to pursue her dreams.

Chapter Text

Final exams were now just next week, moving closer to when the Forgers would be leaving for Korea. Anya was getting nervous, she had been studying her butt off, working extra hard because she wanted to end the school year off a good note. She felt more confident, persevering through her trainee sessions online and being able to answer questions correctly in class. She felt like she had everything in the palm of her hands.

Eventually, she broke the news to Becky, who was ultimately excited for her, but sad to see her bestest friend leave, for she was the only one Becky chose to be friends with. They promised to keep in contact and to call each other every time they had, updating each other no matter what.

As time passed, the exams week came. Anya felt like she had really locked in, being able to finish her tests with ease, especially the classical language one.

“Anya! How do you think you did on your last exams?” Becky asked, a smile on her face.

“I think I did pretty good! I hope all my studying pays off..” She responded, for once she felt satisfied with herself. “I don’t want to end my last year here on a bad note, let’s hope that the results are good.”

“For sure!” Becky said, pulling in Anya for a hug.

A few days later, they were all in class until they got notified about the scores being posted on the board. Everyone rushed there, especially Anya, her hands shaking as she looked at the ranking.

Overall Ranking 15 - Anya Forger

Anya’s eyes widened, it was the highest she’s ever placed, her eyes lit up with joy, she looked at the classes to see if she had gotten a stella.

Classical Language, Stella - 1. Anya Forger

Science, Stella - 2. Anya Forger

“What?! I get 2 stellas?” Her eyes widened in shock, there’s no way in hell this was real!

A big smile was written all over her face.

“YES!” She exclaimed with happiness, squealing with Becky.

“Good job Anya! This is amazing!” Becky said, a smile on her face.

“Congrats Anya, I’m surprised you did good.” Damian said teasingly.

“Oh you little..” She chuckled, “I could say congrats to you too, you’re really impressive.” She said.

“W..Wha..” His eyes widened, his face feeling hot, it was a bright red. “Shut your mouth..” He said, looking away.

“W-Well, the End of Class Gala is soon… before you leave for good, would you like to be my dance partner?” He muttered, his face flushed, staring at Anya.

She stared at him with an unreadable expression, she gave him a smile and responded. “I would be delighted to.”

His eyes widened, and then he let a small smile creep up on him. “Great.”

“Aww you little love birds.” Becky teased, with Emile and Ewen behind her seeing the interaction.

“Wow boss man.” Ewen said.

“I guess we never needed to make challenges for girls to dance with him if he was always going to dance with Anya.” Emile said, Ewen nodding in agreement.

School came to an end, which meant Anya was leaving as well. The small apartment they once shared so many memories in looked so empty as they were all packed.

“All my hard work paid off.” Anya thought to herself.

As they got to the airport, Anya’s friends surprised her as she was sent her way off. Becky was crying uncontrollably, Anya comforting her before she left for good. Becky took one last selfie(s) with her because who knows when she’d see her best friend again in person?

“I plan to come back for the winter for a brief period of time, maybe we should meet up then!” Anya asked, a smile on her face.

“Definitely!” Becky agreed.

“Well, I wouldn’t want to miss my flight, I’m really going to miss you guys.” Anya said, giving a smile to them.

Damian walked towards her, grabbing her hand.

“Anya, I’m really going to miss you, thank you for making school such a fun experience for me.” He said, a smile on his face, but his smile was fake, he was trying hard to hold it in.

Anya looked at him with widened eyes, she embraced him in one long hug.

“It’s okay Sy-on boy. We’ll see each other sometime soon.” She said he melted into her arms and started sobbing uncontrollably.

“There there, no need to cry.” Her tone comforting. “We’ll still talk obviously, like me and Becky. You’re an amazing friend. I wouldn’t wanna miss seeing you when I come back.” She smiled, letting go of his hug.

“Well, I have to go. I’ll see you guys soon! I promise!” Anya exclaimed, going into the terminal with her parents.

“This is really happening… I can’t believe it! I’m so excited!” She thought to herself.

Chapter 9

Notes:

i think i might make two different endings for this, ughhhh why am i lowk invested in my own story im crine. i have a ton of ideas for this and omgomgomg i might just be going crazy. also that first quote is supposed to be damian but it's basically a quote from alien stage teehee. a woman of dualities i must say

Chapter Text

“Maybe I wasn’t as desperate for her. I know my love is different from yours, but it was love too.”

It had been a few months since Anya moved away. The atmosphere had been different, yet people still talked about her. It was like she was an urban legend, the girl who once was so joyful, who got the first tonitrus bolt and the first stella for her grade. The girl who got a stella star for scoring high on her classical language exam, but also got a tonitrus bolt for getting the grade lower for math, the girl who caused the busjacker to strap a bomb around her neck, who also managed to make him surrender just by her words.

What if she had stayed? Would everything have stayed the same? Who would spend her time with Becky Blackbell? Would the Scion Damian Desmond be free to the girls? There were a ton of unanswered questions, especially to how the people who were surrounded by her would feel coming back to school.

Anya kept training, improving on vocals and her stamina. Her coaches kept directing her into a path where she can debut hopefully soon. It had been almost a year since she was scouted by HYBE entertainment, and she had only been a trainee for basically a year since she was taking online lessons back in Germany. She’d make sure to stay in contact with Becky, they would call each other everyday and update each other on how they’ve been and how school was for the both of them.

But what about Damian? Surprisingly, they’ve been talking over the phone frequently, he tells her how Germany is like, and she tells him about how nice being in Korea is, wishing for him to come visit the place. Recently though, they’ve been talking less, worrying Anya, wondering why he’s slowly distancing himself.

She was on the phone with Becky at night after a long day at HYBE, they were talking about the usual until Anya mentioned Damian.

“Hey Becky, is Damian okay? He’s been really distant lately..”

The other line went silent for a moment.

“What do you mean Anya?” She asked.

“Well, recently he’s been talking less to me, trying to find ways to end the conversation earlier than he usually would’ve. If he doesn’t wanna talk to me, it’s fine, I’d just rather hear it from him myself.”

“Well, I don’t really know, but there’s this girl that I’ve seen him around with. I don’t want you to assume the worst. They’ve been hanging out more recently from what I’ve seen. But I’ll go ask around if that makes you feel better, Anya.”

“Oh.. I see,” Anya replied

“Dammit Anya, why do you become friends with the most horrible guys ever?” Anya thought to herself.

“Thank you Becky, I don’t really even know why I’m asking, I feel like I care much more than it actually was. Don’t say anything, but I think I’ve had feelings for him for a while… and now he pulls this? How mature of him.. This is just… absurd.”

“Anya don’t dwell on it, I’ll make sure he straightens up his act even if. He’s so ridiculous! You seriously have horrible taste. But anyway, I have to go Anya. I need to finish studying for my mid-terms. I can’t wait to see you!”

“Bye Becky! Stay safe!” Anya responded, before clicking the hang up button.

“Damn it…” She muttered under her breath.

She looked at her calendar, December 14th. She was leaving to visit Germany on the 16th, granted permission by the entertainment group. Now she dreaded going back, for she was excited to see Becky, but also was looking forward to seeing Damian. Her hopes crushed about going back to her home country.

"How would I even face him now?"  Pictures of his face flooded in her mind. She hated it, she was despairing over a stupid dumb bum of a boy, and she thought she'd never do something like this.

Chapter 10

Notes:

someone take my laptop away from me so i don't keep writing late at night.. teehee. my mind is just so scattered atm i cant lie and im really friggin tired too

Chapter Text

Today was the day Anya was coming back to Germany to visit, and Anya felt like absolute shit. Meanwhile Becky, she’s ecstatic to see her best friend after so many long months, and she came to school all giddy and happy.

Damian saw her all happy, and was confused.

“Blackbell, why are you so happy? I’ve never seen you this happy ever since Anya left.”

She scoffed, staring at him with disgust.

“You’re ridiculous. You seriously don’t know what’s going on? Well I figured, it seems like you haven’t even been talking to Anya much anyway.” She rolled her eyes, he was utterly ridiculous.

His eyes widened by her attitude.

“What? What did I do? What’s with this hostility?” He said, offense taken.

“Why have you been distant from Anya lately? She’s been worried, man you can’t even make time for the girl you like anymore. You’re utterly ridiculous. If you cared to even talk maybe she would’ve told you that she’s coming back to Germany for the holidays, but why should I even tell you? It’s not like you probably care anyway. I thought you liked her, but I guess even the master of love can get deceived.” She said before walking away.

“W-what? What are you talking about? Hey!” He raised his voice, grabbing her shoulder.

“Who said I didn’t like Anya? Look.. it’s just… there’s been complications, okay?” Concern in his voice.

She brushed off his hand “How about you tell Anya that yourself? Don’t keep wasting my time.”

She then walked off, leaving him standing there like a lost puppy.

“She’s visiting, but she didn’t even bother to tell me? I thought we were good.. Why wasn’t I informed until now?” His mind was scattered all over the place, he could barely even focus in class.

After the end of the school day, as Becky walked away, Damian called out to her.

“Blackbell!” He shouted.

“What now, prick?”

“Are you going to pick up Anya now?” He asked, pleading.

“I suppose I am, but why?” An expression unreadable on her face.

“Well uh.. I want to see her, you don’t mind if I tag along… Do you?” He said, pleading, his hands behind his back, holding flowers, a handmade gift with a bag of peanuts and some of the finest tea cakes, all just for Anya.

“Why should I let you come?” She looked at him, disgust overbearing her face.

“Well, I need to give her something.. And I really miss her too.” He said.

“I guess you can come along, but don’t mess anything up or do some stupid shit do you hear me?”

“I won’t!” He was startled a bit, as her gaze was menacing, protective over Anya.

The entire car ride to the airport was silent, and as they got there, Becky and Damian came out to wait for Anya, who was with her mother. Her father said he’ll follow along in a few days because he was on a business trip.

Anya was excited to see Becky, but she was also very tired, the trip was so long, it hurt being in such a tight space for 13-15 hours. It was also hurting her head, for everybody’s minds were frantic in her head. She walked out with her mom as they dragged their luggages.

“Oh Miss Anya, it’s Becky and Damian!” Yor said, a smile on her face.

“Becky!” Her eyes lit up. “And Damian?” She asked, her face confused, as she looked closer, Becky was waving excitedly, and Damian was there, looking away like he always did.

“Hi Becky!” She said excitedly, trying to ignore Damian. She didn’t have the energy to deal with him.

“Anyaa! I missed you!” She said, hugging her tight.

Damian just stood there, looking like a lost puppy.

“Hi Anya..” He said shyly.

She looked at him, his gaze never reaching her eyes, he seemed nervous in a way.

“Damian, I didn’t expect you to be here.” Anya responded.

“Well o-of course I came, I wouldn’t wanna miss seeing you. H-here. I figured you liked these.” He gave her the flowers, handmade gift, the peanuts, and the cakes.

Her eyes widened in shock.

Chapter Text

Her eyes widened in shock, she looked at the gifts in his hands and looked back at him.

“Oh wow, uh I don’t know what to say.. Thank you.” She said forcing a smile, tiredness creeping up behind her back, she took the gift.

“Well Anya and Ms. Forger, let’s take you to your hotel. I arranged for you guys to sleep in this nice hotel.” Becky said with excitement. “It’s near my house so you don’t have to travel far distances!”

“That’s great Becky! Thank you so much!” Anya responded.

“Wow, thank you so much Miss Becky! Words cannot express my gratitude right now!” Yor responded.

Damian just stood there as the three talked. He was confused on why she was acting off. He didn’t understand anything that was going on. Damian and Becky carried their luggages into the car and then drove to the hotel.

Anya sat in the middle because the seats were limited, she was tired to say nonetheless. The car ride was long and she plopped dead asleep. While she fell asleep, her head moved onto Damian’s shoulder, startling him. He looked down to see she fell asleep, and he stared at her for a brief moment and smiled internally.

Becky saw them and smiled.

“Aww how cute.” She teased.

“Oh be quiet Blackbell.” Damian groaned.

As the car ride progressed, he ended up falling asleep as well, the two sleeping peacefully. Becky secretly took a picture, and posted on her instagram story, captioning it

 “Wow look at these lovebirds!”

She giggled looking at them. “Maybe he still really likes her.” She thought.

They got to the hotel, Anya startled by waking up on his shoulder and him sleeping on her head. She gave him a nudge and he jolted right up. He looked up and he saw the hotel.

“Wow! This place is huge Becky!” Anya said, her eyes widening with excitement.

“Of course! Anything for my bestie!” She smiled.

Becky checked in for the Forgers while Damian grabbed their luggages from the car, Anya was outside as well helping with luggage.

“Thank you for the gifts, they’re really nice.” Anya said.

“It’s nothing.” He responded, trying to brush it off.

Anya looked down, she never understood this guy. He was so irritating to be around at times she just wanted to punch him like she did when she first met him. She wanted answers on why he’s been distant, she was frustrated with everything.

“Damian, why have you been distant lately?” Anya asked.

His eyes widened, he didn’t expect her to ask that.

“What do you mean? ”

“Every time I’ve talked to you recently, you’ve been brushing me off. I don’t understand why.” Her eyes darted to the ground.

“I don’t think I’ve been distant, also why didn’t you tell me you were coming back? I had to find out through Becky.” Trying to change the subject out of nervousness.

“No, you don’t get to change the subject and brush me off like that. You say you don’t think you’ve been distant but it’s obvious. If you cared enough to even engage in a conversation with me nowadays maybe you would’ve known that I was coming back. Gosh, you’re absolutely ridiculous at times Desmond.” She bit her lip in frustration, her lip bleeding.

He just stood there dumbfounded.

“It’s just complicated, okay? I don’t understand why I’m getting all this attitude, get a load of yourself, Forger! I showed up today and I got you those gifts, isn’t that enough to make up for you?” He said, instantly regretting it. She was walking and she stopped in her tracks.

“Oh so you have the audacity to say you don’t think you’ve been distant but you say that things are complicated? You think that showing up today with those gifts matters to me? I just want the friend that I enjoy to talk to instead of it being a sore in the ass like you are right now. If you didn’t want to talk to me you could’ve just fucking said that?” She snapped, she was drained, frustrated, thoughts filled her mind like crazy. She just walked away as he stood there.

“Anya wai-” He shouted.

“Don’t even bother.” She said, her tone as cold as ice.

He sighed in frustration, carrying the luggages inside the hotel behind Anya.

Chapter Text

Anya and Yor went to their hotel room with Becky and Damian following them from behind.

“Wow! This place is huge and super nice Becky! Thank you!” She exclaimed, giving her a big hug.

“It’s not really that big..” Becky chuckled. Anya wasn’t surprised that she’d said that though, they were obviously rich anyway. “But anytime for my bestest friend! I couldn’t let you sleep in such a cramped place for your visit back!” She smiled at Anya, who reciprocated the smile back.

“You guys go get some rest! I’ll call you so we can plan on what to do for the following weeks you’re here! I’m so excited to hang out with you!” Becky squealed.

“Okay Becky.” Her growing bigger.

“Anyway, rest up, me and Damian will be taking our leave. Please adjust properly and if you need anything ask me!”

“Thank you Becky!” Anya said.

“Thank you so much Miss Becky! I appreciate it very much!” Yor replied to Becky.

“Of course Anya and Ms. Forger!” She smiled, Damian walked out quickly and then Becky followed right behind him.

He was walking like at the speed of light, Becky could barely catch up.

“Hey you!” She exclaimed, “Slow down!! Why are you walking so fast!? I can barely catch up!” her tone aggressive.

“Well hurry up! You’re just like stubby legs!” He responded back.

“Gosh what is your problem? Why are you so fed up? Literally what happened back there when you guys were grabbing the luggage??” She scoffed, annoyed.

“Why is that your business?! You don’t deserve to know anything that happened there!”

“Oh so something did happen Desmond? What did you do to her?!” She responded, getting angrier

“I swear if you did something so horrible I will murder you myself!”

“I’m not telling you anything!” He exclaimed “Why should YOU out of all people know?”

“Because I’m Anya’s best friend! She enjoys my company, and I know her like the back of my hand!”

“No way in hell I’d tell you!” Damian hissed.

“Well, I guess you won’t be getting any help, and I guess you won’t be able to hang out with Anya after she’s been gone for such a long time! And then she’s going to find a boyfriend and then she’s going to forget you, aww how sad!” Becky teased.

Damian jumped at the thought of her finding a boyfriend that wasn’t going to be him, his face turning red.

“As if I’d want to date stubby legs!” He said, it was obviously a lie.

“Sure you don’t!” Becky teased.

Damian’s face was burning hot, he was embarrassed, and he just chose to accept his fate.

“We got into a fight while dealing with the luggage… she’s been upset because she says I’ve been distant.” He started out.

“Oh, I see. She told me about this a few days before coming here. She asked me if you were okay. Gosh Desmond, really what has been up with you?” She responded.

“Well for starters, I’ve focused on studying for mid-terms, it’s been really hectic lately if I’m honest. Trying to juggle talking to Anya, my studies, parents, and there’s also this girl…”

Becky’s eyes widened.

Chapter Text

“Girl?” She thought to herself, before she spoke he continued.”

“Her name is Lorelei, I’ve been told by Jeeves to be good to her, for he said that’s what my father wants me to do. She’s been persistent to hang out with her, so the majority of my time has been with her. Every time she sees me on my phone trying to talk to Anya, she attempts to take my phone so that all my attention is diverted to her. I’m not very fond of her, trust me, but I have to do things sometimes.”

“Oh, I see.” Becky responded, she dared not to make eye contact with him. “Well, what are you going to do now that Anya’s back in town? This is a rare occurrence, who knows when she’ll be able to visit us again? My intentions are not to give an ultimatum, but if I must. You either tell Anya the truth and make it up to her, or you either keep hanging around Lorelei and you can just leave Anya. I don’t care about what your dad says, or Jeeves, you either make things right, or you can think about being around her disappearing.”

Damian stayed silent, but he wanted to please Anya, even though he despised going against his father’s wishes.

No.

He couldn’t go against his father’s wishes, how would his father feel? What would he do about Lorelei?

The thoughts scattered across his brain, unsure of what to do.

“I understand, I’ll try to talk to her tomorrow. For the meantime though, what should I do?” He asked

“There’s really not much you can do, but I guess I can try to put in good words for you.” She responded.

“I see, thank you Becky.” He responded with a sigh.

“Mhm, you better be grateful I’m doing you a favor.” She said.

Later at night, Damian couldn’t sleep at all, he was bothered about what he should do. He doesn’t want to displease his father and go against orders, but he didn’t want to keep doing this to Anya. A sharp stab was felt in his heart, he was devastated, lost, for he was unsure of what to do.

“Dammit!” He whispered, he eventually ended up going into his bed and curling up into a ball.

“No Damian, don’t cry! You’re a Desmond, you need to stay calm and composed!” He thought to himself, trying to comfort himself

Chapter Text

He lay awake at night, thinking about the situation, eventually drifting off to sleep, waking up with puffy eyes. He walks out of his room, his eyes all puffy.

“Hey boss man.” Emile says, getting ready for school.

“Hey boss-” Ewen says, and then notices his eyes. “Boss man, are you okay?”

“I- I’m fine! Why are you asking such ridiculous questions?!” Damian protested.

The three walked out of the dorm together after getting ready, they were catching up about life and stuff, even though they were together a lot. Damian was really out of his zone, and he wasn’t focused on anything, his mind still scattered. Ewen and Emile noticed.

“Boss man, are you sure you’re okay? Is something bothering you?” Emile asks.

“Yeah, you can always talk to us, tell us! Is it that Lorelei? Or worse… is it Forger?!” Ewen asks.

Damian gets startled by the name of Forger, well obviously, because it WAS about her. What was he going to do? How does he even start this? His brain is scattered, and he’s so unsure he might just pop an artery!

“Why would it be about any of them?!” He exclaimed. “I told you I’m fine! There’s no need for worrying.” He said, an attempt of brushing them off. He couldn’t tell them, just yet. It was painfully obvious, but he was still denying it in front of his friends.

Ewen stared at Emile, a pitied look on their faces. He always tried to hide his feelings, and it always left the two distressed, but they knew not to butt in, it would’ve been useless to.

Becky Blackbell was walking to class, and Anya Forger..? What was she doing back at Eden College? How did she even get allowed to come back? How long would she have been here?

“Anya..?” Damian said, startled. “What are you doing here?”

“Hm? Oh, it’s just you.” Anya replied. “Well, Becky convinced the teachers and Mr. Henderson agreed, so I’m back here just for a day or a few.”

“Oh.. I see.” He responded, they didn’t dare let their eyes meet, the tension was obvious. Whatever happened yesterday was suspenseful, killing even. It was hectic.

That’s when Ewen and Emile caught on, something must’ve happened between the two. They looked at each other, their expressions unreadable. They always knew that he didn’t want to talk to Lorelei, but he never would go against his father’s wishes.

They all went to class, and they sat at their desks. They all were chattering until the teacher spoke.

“Students, we have a student that’s returning for a few days, please be nice, for it’s been a long time she’s been gone.”

Anya walked in and the class was stunned to say the least, she’s been missing for half of the semester already, they didn’t understand why she came back, the whispers grew among them, their minds growing louder, making her dizzy.

She looked around the classroom, scanning it with her eyes, her peripherals noticed that Damian was sitting next to a girl that she didn’t know.

Chapter 15

Notes:

came back with a longer chapter!! hope you enjoy !! im working on next one ASAP!!!!!!

Chapter Text

She found it odd that he wasn’t sitting with his little henchmen, once she spotted Becky she sat by her.

“Hey Becky, who’s that girl next to Damian?” She asked, her gaze unwavering at that girl.

“Huh? Oh.. her…” She scoffed. “That’s Lorelei, she’s the one who’s been all up on him. It’s so weird, I don’t enjoy seeing the two of them over there just like that. It’s annoying.”

“Hm.. what about his henchmen?” Anya’s face written with confusion.

“Well, they sit across from him, they don’t like how their bossman sits without them, but they still suck it up. Gosh, poor lads, getting abandoned for a gir-!”

“Forger, Blackbell, quiet down now.” The teacher said,

“Sorry!!” The two responded, nodding their heads guiltily.

“Lorelei?” Anya thought to herself, “So this is the girl.. I see.”

The entire class was tenseful for Anya, she felt this gaze upon her that was undying. It felt like she was being watched everywhere, causing her to drop into a cold sweat.

“Anya, are you okay? You look really pale!” Becky asked.

“I’m okay Becky.” She tried to put a smile, “It’s just I’m not used to being back here you know? It’s so weird.”

“Yeah I totally get it!” Becky responded, “But I bet you’ll be just fine! I believe in you!”

“Thank you Becky,” Anya responded, but who was staring at her? Why was she so uneasy?

She looked around, trying to see who’s staring at her until she locked eyes with Damian, who kept stealing glances at her. Their eyes locked for a brief moment, his gaze softening while hers remained unreadable. He looked away immediately, and she looked away after.

“Huh? Why was he staring at-”

“Shit she saw me!” He thought to himself, his thought caught Anya off guard. “Gosh.. what do I even do? She’s probably still fuming about what happened yesterday, and I really need to tell her!”

Anya’s eyes widened, he needed to tell her something? She tried to keep her mind off of it, but it still crept up from behind.

“You have other priorities, Anya. Don’t forget, this is just a vacation. You need to go back to the entertainment after.”

After class, they went back to the cafeteria. Anya was looking at the place, it felt… different. She hasn’t even been gone for a full year and everything looks and feels weird

“Did they change up the place? It looks different.” Anya asked.

“Well, they repainted the walls, polished the tiles and such. A lot has happened since you’ve been gone. It’s been so lonely without you, Anya.” Becky said.

“Aww Becky don’t flatter me. I guess this is what it’s like after moving to Korea.” She chuckled. “Let’s take a picture together so that I can remember us at Eden College!” Anya smiled, pulling out her phone as they took a selfie.

Damian happened to be walking by with Lorelei, but it was a perfect opportunity to ask Damian to take a picture of Becky and Anya.

“Damian,” Anya called out, causing him to freeze in his tracks.

“Damian..?”

“What about Sy-on boy? Why Damian all of a sudden?”

Damian turned around confused, Lorelei next to him

“What is it, Forger?”

“I was wondering if you could take a picture of me and Becky?” She said calmly.

“Oh… sure.” He said, she gave him the phone and he snapped a picture while they posed.

“Thanks.” She said,

“Mhm..” He responded, walking away with Lorelei.

As he walked, he seemed out of it, and Lorelei happened to notice.

“Damian? Are you okay? Why do you look like that?” She said, her voice filled with concern, her arm wrapping around him.

He shrugged her arm off.

“It’s nothing.” His tone was harsh, unwelcoming. He missed Anya so badly, he couldn’t do it. He just can’t go through with this.

He walked away, leaving Lorelei just standing there, other people staring and whispering.

Lorelei looked down, tears forming.

“Could I ever really compare with that Forger girl?” She bit her lip, humiliation sinking in.

Chapter 16

Notes:

three chapters in one day i'm really on a roll!! ik it's short im just really tired lol

Chapter Text

At the end of the day, Damian was back with his henchmen, and then he saw Anya.

“Excuse me guys, I need to be right back!” Damian exclaimed.

The two henchmen glanced at one another, a face that read that they weren’t surprised and assumed he was probably talking to the pink haired girl.

“Anya!” Damian shouted.

Anya was by the garden, embracing the nature around her. She looked like an angel, a small smile crept up by her lips. It was so gentle and warm. Her emerald eyes shone like they were one of the most precious jewels ever, her cheeks rosy as ever. She was completely mesmerizing. Damian’s heart was fluttering like crazy. Seeing her like that so naturally, melted his heart. Gosh.. she was gorgeous, and Damian couldn’t take his eyes off her.

By the time Damian got closer, Anya noticed and looked up.

“Oh, Damian.” She said coldly. It was just the two of them, she didn’t have to be nice to him in front of the others. Her true emotions showed her hurt, her pain. His heart sank seeing her like this.

“Anya, can we talk, please?” He said, pleading in his eyes.

“But you couldn’t talk about it yesterday, right?” She scoffed, she was about to walk away until she felt a grip on her arm. She turned around and saw Damian, his face full of sadness, tears swelling up in his eyes. Gosh.. how could she resist not talking to that boy. All she saw was the sweet boy who wasn’t distant. It felt like all her worries had gone away just by being with him, his pleading eyes.

“Please..?” He managed to whisper. “I’ll buy you some cakes if you want.”

“Uh…” Cakes? Say less! “Well fine, make it quick though, I’m going to hang out with Becky soon.”

His eyes lit up, causing her to stumble back and blush a bit. “Well, I just wanted to apologize about what happened yesterday. I know I’ve been distant, but it’s just… school has caught up to me and stuff, and… there’s this girl my father’s been insisting I talk to. Her name is Lorelei, but I don’t want to talk to her, I’d rather talk to you and stuff, who knows when I’ll see you again.”

Anya’s heart started beating like crazy, he’d chosen to talk to her instead of Lorelei? A small flusteredness appeared on her face.

“Sy-on.. It’s okay.” She said, a smile on her face, she patted his head, causing him to get flustered and all riled up.

“H-hey! Don’t pat me like that uggo.” He scoffed, a teasing smile on his face. Anya’s gaze softened.

She really missed having him around, she pulled him into a tight embrace, happiness written all over it. He reciprocated the hug back, his face as red as a tomato, but it was the best she could do with this hug. It meant the world, and they just couldn’t let go for some reason.

Once that ended, she pecked him on the cheek slightly, just to tease him once more. His face turned fully red.

“W-WHAT THE HECK?!” he exclaimed, looking away from his nervousness. She giggled.

The two shared a wholesome moment, but at the corner of everything, Lorelei saw everything. Her expression was obvious. It felt gruesome. She could never be Anya, it was always going to her, never Lorelei. She didn’t understand why her parents had chosen this for her, but all she could do is just stand there and watch, for he was never going to be hers.

Chapter 17

Notes:

ughhh school is so tiring but i got a ton of things out da wayyy. this is lowk rlly short so apologiess

Chapter Text

Lorelei stood and watched, a wallowed heart, full of envy and hatred towards Anya. But how could she hate her? She was everything she wasn’t.

“Why does she get everything?” She thought to herself.

Anya got startled by the thought, searching around for whoever the person was, until she saw Lorelei. Her face buried in the palms of her hands. Anya couldn’t help but feel bad for her outcome, and wished that things had been different for this girl. She turned back to Damian who was still flushed as ever and gave him a smile.

“Well Sy-on, I have to go to hang out with Becky! I’ll see you later.” She smiled, giving him this warmth he’d never felt.

“See you then, Anya.” He replied, a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. A soft tinted pink filled his cheeks, so sweet, so innocent, so young.

Anya waved back at him as she walked away. Damian just stood there, he wanted to give her the biggest hug ever, to hold her, to love her. His mind was full of her, and he couldn’t imagine a mind without her. Without even thinking he bolted to Anya, and gave her a huge hug, catching her off guard.

“W-Woah? Damian?” She asked, startled. She turned around and saw him, his face full of pink.

“I-I just wanted to give you another hug… before you go..” He said shyly, looking away but with that same old tone.

Anya giggled, looking at him. “You shithead!” She said teasingly.

“Stupid uggo! I don’t wanna hear it!” He retorted, embarrassment written all over his face.

“Well see you later Sy-on!” Still teasing him.

“Whatever!!” He exclaimed, running away.

Later, Anya and Becky went to hang out around the city, where they explored the scenery and took pictures together. They bought a few things and they settled down at a cafe. They were just chatting about things, catching up about how Anya’s life was in Korea.

“So.. how's life in Korea? Are there any cute boys there? Do you think you could find me a boyfriend?!” Becky squealed, excitement filling her up.

“Woah woah now, calm down Becky.” She chuckled. “There are some conventionally attractive people there that I think you’d be interested in. But Korea isn’t that bad overall actually. The scenery is nice, the food is good, my living conditions are well, but I still miss Berlin a lot. It’s not the same over there as it is here.” Anya sighed, a bit of concern in her voice. “It just feels so weird being there, I’ve made some friends with the trainees and stuff, and I’ve also improved a ton. I feel so excluded sometimes because I’m German, they’ve been there longer than I have.”

Becky looked at her with sadness, she hated seeing her friend like this. “Anya, that’s okay, it’s okay to be different, your ethnicity doesn’t define who you are. You’re an amazing person.” She gave her a reassuring smile, which seemed to calm down Anya.

“Oh yeah Becky, I forgot to tell you… the whole purpose of me coming here. I might not be able to come visit for a while, they’re planning that I debut soon… even though I’ve been at the company for a short period of time. They think I have enough potential somehow..” She just let the words come out, she couldn’t keep hiding it from her friend anymore. It killed her deep inside to just keep hiding herself.

Becky’s eyes widened in shock.

“What?”
